Puttur: Huge industrial corridor to be built on 100-acre land

Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (MS)

Puttur, Jan 6: A mammoth industrial corridor will be built in the taluk with the view of development and providing employment. A 100-acre land is already identified for this purpose. The survey work will start in a few days.

The construction will be done under the in-charge of MLA Sanjeev Matandoor. The implementation will be done by KIADB. Thousands of young men and women of the taluk are expected to get employment.

Land acquisition officer of KIADB, Binoy visited the town on Tuesday and held discussion with MLA Matandoor in the tourist bungalow.

The corridor will be built at Katara of Chikkamudnoor village between Uppinangady and PUttur. IT is better if most part of the land is that of government as the question of providing compensation does not arise.

Land should be given to entrepreneurs at lower rates. Binoy said that some part of the land will be utilized for infrastructure development. KIADB will do the conversion, layout, road, water and electricity connections. As Katara is near the Kumaradhara river it is selected for the purpose according to Binoy.

MLA Matandoor said, “When Jagadish Shettar was the minister, I had requested for industrial corridor at Puttur. Now I met current minister Murugesh Nirani. After the minister gave permission, the land acquisition officer has visited the town. Survey work will start in a few days. This will benefit locals of Puttur.”
