J&K DGP sanctions Rs 94 lakh for next of kin of deceased police personnel


Jammu, Jan 11 (IANS): Jammu and Kashmir's Director General of Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned special welfare relief of Rs 94 lakh Rs and welfare relief of Rs 5.4 lakh in favour of Next Of Kin (NoKs) of martyred Police personnel/SPOs, officials said on Monday.

Special Welfare Relief of Rs 22 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents and legal heirs of ASI Ghulam Hassan, Ct. Shafeeq Ahamed, and Ct. Rameez Ahmad, who attained martyrdom in a terrorists attack in Zewan last month.A

Special Welfare Relief of Rs 22 lakh Rs has also been sanctioned in favour of deceased Follower Niyaz Ahmad Shah and special relief of rs 6 lakh in favour of deceased SPO Arjun Singh.

The special welfare relief has been sanctioned out of the Contributory Police/SPOs Welfare Fund.

Meanwhile, the DGP under another order has sanctioned Rs 50,000 each in favour of ten parents of martyred police personnel/SPOs to meet their immediate financial requirements.

Similarly, Rs 40,000 have been sanctioned in favour of parents of a martyr for their treatment.

Police Headquarters is running many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families. There are also schemes for the wards of police personnel and SPOs. Besides, there are schemes for the NoKs of martyrs, their wards and also for the retired police personnel and their families.
