Mangaluru, Jan 13: Adivasi Hakkugala Samanvaya Samiti, through a statement, has termed the controversy kicked up relating to imitating Koragajja Daiva by Muslims as a desperate pre-planned effort for the crystallization of communal hatred made by the Sangh Parivar.
"The dispute over wearing of Muttala (cap made out of areca nut sheet) and painting the face black by a groom at the wedding ceremony of a Muslim community at Saleethur in Bantwal taluk is meaningless. Koragajja, a part of the religious faith of Koraga community, and symbolic items like Muttala and stick happen to be the things used in the first phase of human evolution. They belong to everyone in the society. Giving them religious or caste hue is an injustice meted out to Koraga community, who are the original aborigines of the region, said joint convener of the Samiti, Dr Krishnappa Konchady.
