Panaji: Wagle Boys, Sharada Girls Emerge Champs in South Dist Tennis Ball Cricket

Panaji, Dec 18: Wagle High School , Mangueshim ( Boys) & Sharada English High School, Marcela ( girls) emerged winners at the first South Goa District School (Under -16) Tennis Ball Cricket Championships for boys and girls held at Kunkolim Tennis ball Cricket ground, Kunkolim Mardol, Ponda here organized by Goa Tennis Ball Cricket Association & Lions Club, Ponda and Wagle High School, Mangueshim on Thursday December 16.

Boys - Results

Wagle High School, Mangueshim emerge winners by defeating Sharada English High School, Marcela, Wagle scored 61 /3 in 8 overs, Diptiraj 18 runs, Jayraj 14 runs, Darpan 10 runs, For Sharada Rahul took 3 /10 , Sharada cooul score 59 /7 in 8 overs , lost by 2 runs. Ashish 16 runs and shaubam 8 runs, For Wagle gautam 3/15 and amey 2/10.

Government High School, Kundaim bagged third place whereas Almeida High School emerged fourth.

Individual Prizes

Best batsman - Darpan (Wagle), best Bowler – Amber ( Sharada)

Girls - Results

Sharada English High School emerge winners by defeating Vaddem Nagar High School, Vasco, Vaddem Nagar High School scored 54 runs in 8 overs, Nisha 13 runs and namrata 9 runs, For Sharada Sacchi took 2 wickets, Alpita took 3 wickets, Sharada scored the required runs in 5.1 overs, Sacchi scored 20 runs and sayli 12 runs.

Wagle High bagged third, while Presentation School emerged fourth.

Individual Prizes

Best batsman - Sacchi Tari (Sharada), best bowler – Alpita ( Sharada)

Sagar Panvelkar, president of Lions Club Ponda was the chief guest. Other guests were Sudan Kunkolikar, Sagar Sacordekar and Niti Naik, headmistress of wagle high school.

Girish Nadkarni welcomed the guests and Nilesh Naik proposed the vote of  thanks.
