Bantwal, Jan 26: The state level award for excellence was presented to Bantwal tahsildar Rashmi S R for the year 2021-22 on Tuesday January 25.

Rashmi was chosen for the award considering the efficient way in which she managed the work related to election. She had functioned as assistant returning officer during the election. The work done during the pre and post-election periods were taken into account while choosing the awardees.

The normal practice so far followed right from the year 2011, was to hand over the awards to the eligible officers who have excelled in the election on the National Voters’ Day in the presence of the state governor. However, due to the corona scenario this time around, the secretary of the governor conducted the awards function through a video conferencing facility.

Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Dr Rajendra K V, zilla panchayat chief executive officer Dr Kumar and several other officers participated in the programme. On the occasion, a certificate declaring the winner of the award duly signed by the chief electoral officer Manoj Kumar Meena, was presented to Rashmi.

She deserves this award infact she deserves much more than this... She is the only government officer in Dakshina Kannada who has sympathy for the weaker section... She doesn’t have any attitude.., I had been to her office twice...without any recommendations or bribe she has done the work... God bless her
