Mangalore: Biggest Cake Show in City Gets Delicious Start

Mangalore, Dec 20: It's the season for cakes, and the Kudla Jumbo and Biggest Cake Show at St Agnes Special School grounds has taken the art of baking a notch higher.
The special cake exhibition was inaugurated well-known Konkani activist Roy Castelino, proprietor, Roy Constructions here on Monday December 20. The exhibition will go on till January 2, 2011 and will be open between 10.30 and 9 pm everyday during these days.
Cakes modeled on the Swami Narayana Aksharadhama temple, Roy Construction, wedding cakes, Amar Akbar Antony, are on display. Apart from these, varieties of rich plum cakes, chocolates, ice creams, fruits, furniture sets, household items, antique pieces and Christmas goodies are also available for purchase at the fair.
Fr Francis Rodrigues, editor of Raknno, in his blissful address said that monuments belonging to various communities displayed at the cake show have portrayed communal harmony in the city.
Walter Nandalike, editor-in-chief, Daijiworld, the chief guest at the programme said that the cake show is a unique concept that is an example of the creativity and the spirit of innovation among the people. He also expressed his Christmas greetings to all present and wished them a prosperous new year.
MLA U T Khadar, Ivan D’Souza, Austin D'Souza Prabhu, Vincent D'Costa among others were present. Raymond D’Cunha, editor of Pingara weekly compered the programme.
