Abu Dhabi: KCO Announces Throwball and Volleyball Tourney

Abu Dhabi, Dec 22: Konkani Cultural Organisation (KCO), Abu Dhabi, has announced that it will be organizing ‘KCO Throwball and Volleyball Rolling Trophy Tournament 2011’, on February 4, 2011, at Abu Dhabi Indian School grounds.
This is yet another opportunity for the sports lovers to give vent to their sporting talent in Throw ball and Volleyball during this pleasant season.
KCO president, Gerald D’Mello, expects this to be a very exciting event, in view of the fact that a number of reputed throw ball and volleyball teams hail from this region. He has extended a warm invitation to all the sports enthusiasts to participate or witness this event and support their favourite teams.
Interested teams may register themselves for the tourney by sending in their entries to KCOevents@yahoo.com. They can also contact any one of these members, Valerian Fernandes 050 4140872, Sebastian Pais 050 6619597, Canute Pinto 055 8154286 or Donald D’Silva 050 3138637 before January 10, 2011, for this purpose. This tournament is open to teams comprising members from Karnataka state residing in the UAE.
The proceedings of the tournament will begin at 8.00 am. The match fixtures will be drawn on the spot.
Rules and match format will remain the same as in the last tournament. A copy of the same will be made available on request.
Trophies will be awarded to the winner and runner up teams. Prizes will be awarded for the best overall player and striker in case of volleyball, and best overall player and smasher in the case of throw ball event.
KCO has also announced about the holding of its upcoming events for 2011, as follows:
