Shimoga: Yeddyurappa to Complain to President against Bhardwaj 


Shimoga, Dec 23 (IANS) Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa Thursday said he will write to President Pratibha Patil Friday against Governor H.R. Bhardwaj's repeated public criticism of his government.

"Tomorrow (Friday) I am writing a letter to President Patil on whether she had permitted governors to act like this," he told reporters here, reacting to Bhardwaj's statement late Wednesday that he has a list of corrupt ministers and anybody can take it from him.

This is the first time Yeddyurappa has directly taken on Bhardwaj, who has been demanding a 'true picture' regarding land deal allegations against him and the action taken against Reddy brothers, who are ministers, over alleged illegal iron ore mining.

Yeddyurappa referred to union Law Minister M. Veerappa Moily meeting Bhardwaj in Bangalore Thursday morning, and accused Moily of attempts to destablise his government.

Moily was former Congress chief minister in the state.

Bhardwaj's statement on the list of corrupt ministers came after Yeddyurappa had brushed aside his comment that he was not happy with the chief minister's response to land deal allegations and action against Reddy brothers.

The governor said he had given the corrupt ministers' list to Yeddyurappa.

Bhardwaj came in for criticism for the first time from state Law Minister S. Suresh Kumar, considered to be a sober politician and not known to use harsh words.

"Karnataka is not an office and the governor is not its office superintendent. Ministers do not work as clerks under the supervision of this office superintendent," Kumar told reporters in Chikmagalur.

"Only the president has to advise the governor," he added.

Bhardwaj and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have been attacking each other for several weeks now.

While Yeddyurappa has not been direct in his criticism of Bhardwaj, state BJP leaders led by their president K.S. Eshwarappa always call him a "Congress agent".

Eshwarappa had two days back taunted Bhardwaj to quit and contest the taluka (sub-district) and zilla (district) panchyat elections being held Dec 26 and Dec 31 either as a Congress candidate or as a Janata Dal-Secular nominee.

On Wednesday, Eshwarappa said Bhardwaj was attacking the BJP government to please Congress president Sonia Gandhi and become a minister again.

Bhardwaj, a long time Congressman, was a central law minister before his appointment as the Karnataka governor.

    We have learnt in very olden days at times a mild lie was used to kill a most poisonous monsters! Now Yeddy has grown into protector of most dangerous corrupt monsters.Looks to be this monster can not be elimated by anybody by normal ways as he has support of his bosses and he is growing into poisonous day by day.Though it may be unacceptable a governor of state is working like this ,for a very genuine cause we must support the work of this Governor. Yeddy with no choice is going to President indirectly requesting to protect his corrupt Guys with whom he has no control.Yeddy is sensing the last bells now !His only temporary protector could be local election which he may again win by corruption again . Lets see if he survives until panchayat elections

    Respected President of India,

    As the entire nation knows now I have been only transferring the State properties to my kith and kin. My colleagues did nothing but have been raping the wives of their friends and granting Power Plants without bidding to private companies. The Reddy brothers in particular have been looting the national wealth by mining in the Western Ghats but are funding me and my party in turn. All is done with proper clearances and approvals from my high command. But this stupid fellow Bharadwaj claiming himself to be the Governor and functing under your orders has made a list of us and titled it as croocks. He is acting as the agent of opposition. We are in fact only continuing the good work of our predecessors in looting the exchequer as is the right of every politician under the Indian democracatic system.

    I therefore beg you to issue a Presidential Order with direction to this Bharadwaj not to show the list to anybody but tear it off.

    Mr. Yeddi you must think why Mr. Governor or any citizen is complaining about your administration. It shows that you are going in a wrong track and it is better for you to accept it, correct it. You are CM and leading the whole State where every citizen are depending upon your decision and your power. We know it is possible to do some mistakes when you are in power. Try to understand your position and correct yourself and give us good out put. Do not waste your time in writing letters and giving all stupid speeches to citizens and bluffing us. The day will come for you when you will be feeling guilty if have some sense and if you are human being. Accept your mistakes say thanks for the people who tell your wrong deeds and correct them and rule as a king but not as goonda or culprit.

    Yeddy is one of most corrupt politiican our Karnataka state has seen. It's quite unfortunate that the Governer or Lokayukta cannot take any action against this most corrupt minister. Law is binding and enforceable only for a poor man not for these goonda politicians. In the name of religion they have come to power to amass wealth and instead of providing good governance they suck the blood of poor people. Shame to all of us, the educated class who are the silent spectators for all these decoity of state.

    Hehehe...Much like the kinder garten children! Now complaining to 'Mother India'. I have hardly come across any such immature politician who at times sheds tears in the public, shouts at the officials at the top of his voice, frequent emotional bursts against his own cabinet colleagues! He's much like the high school class representative. When class teacher chastises him for failing to control his wards, he goes to head master to complain not about errant classmates but the class teacher! Does he expect the head master to act against the class teacher? The governor might be Congi agent or he might even be prejudiced. But this does not absolve Yeddi and his govt of their misdeeds. He is in search of a governor who will close his eyes and ears. Bharadwaj is not a saint either. But the issues he is taking up cannot simply be ignored just because his party affiliations are not in tandem with the ruling party. Just like the governor has proved Yeddy's fallings, let Yeddy prove that governor is wrong...not just by crying hoarse and shedding tears but with substantial proofs. He is ruling the state, he has the administrative machinery in his hands, then what is preventing him from proving governor wrong? People sitting in the glass houses....

    Why Yeddy is bringing the President in the picture knowingly he has done wrong and knowing he is corrupt. Yeddy has no right to question or ask the President regarding this. What Yeddy is thinking ? The Law Minister Suresh also should mind his own business and not interfere in CM & Governors matter. Definitely Suresh will support Yeddy as he is working under Yeddy and has to keep his Chair safe. So naturally he will back CM. Eshwarappa you are the President of BJP of Karnatka and not President of India. You people are supporting Yeddy as you all know if you don't support you all will loose power. Start developments in Karnataka and stop all this nonsence. Bhardwaraj is a well experienced Politicians and knows his duties and responsibilities and need no take you advice.
