Mangalore, Dec 24: It's Christmas eve and this little city is buzzing with traditional Christmas frenzy. The atmosphere is joyous and chirpy with people, not just Christians but almost everyone being excited to be part of welcoming the arrival of Infant Jesus.
Children, elders et all have already begun the shopping ritual. It is time for buying kuswars, cakes, dresses, Christmas decorative that include bells and stars. Almost all the shops selling Christmas goodies are jam-packed. The bakeries are all exhibiting various kinds of cakes attracting the customers to revel in their regale. Kuswars and cakes too are being sold at a brisk pace.
The traditional atmosphere days before the Christmas is definitely a living proof for the city's reputation of being Rome of the East. The churches too are all geared up to celebrate the festival for it is these institutions that religiously send the message of the Lord Jesus. Various parishoners are all waiting to take part in the midnight mass with church bells ringing to fill the devouts' hearts and souls with happiness.
The spirit of Christmas has already set in with atmosphere turning into that of joy, peace and serenity coupled with fun and laughter. As an add on for the festive fun, the soothing winter has doubled the
happiness with of course Santa Claus spreading all the cheer among children and elders alike.
