Mangaluru/Udupi, Feb 4: Dakshina Kannada on Friday, February 4, reported 319 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 201 cases.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,33,907 out of which 2,435 are currently active.

As many as 669 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,784. Out of which four deaths were reported on Friday.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,14,87,280 as fine in 94,034 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

A total of 201 new cases were reported on Friday. The total active Covid cases have risen to 2,428. A total of 467 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday.

Udupi taluk reported 109 cases, Kundapura 53 and 34 cases in Karkala. 5 cases were reported from outside district.

A total of 10,34,090 people have received first dose of vaccination and 8,83,819 have received both doses and 34,519 people have received booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
