Mangalore: Boat Suspectedly Carrying Weapons Creates Panicky Moments

Mangalore, Dec 24: In an incident reported from old port here, a boat named M S V Al-Jazeera allegedly to be transporting weapons to Mangalore has been held. The boat was voyaging from Kalpeni in Lakshadweep to Mangalore coast.
In all eight persons have been taken into custody with regard to the case of which four are from Jamnagar, Gujarat, three from Lakshadweep and one from Kerala. They have been identified as A K Nasir, Kunhi Mohammed, Latheef, Abbas Kareem, Mohammed Haneef, Ayub Ahmed and Salem Mohammed.
Acting on a tip off by the intelligence, Bunder police and Coastal Guards rushed to the spot for investigation. The police are investigating into the case to confirm about the suspected weapon transportation.
