Udupi, Feb 5: ‘Nirantar Natakotsava 2022’ by Nirantar Udyavar is all set to be held from February 11 to 13. Nirantar Udyavar is an association working for Konkani language, culture, and art in its own way. For the last three years, the organization has been instrumental in organizing various programmes in the district in this regard.

‘Nirantar Natakotsav’ is one of the prominent events organized by Nirantar Udyavar. Various renowned drama troupes of Konkani have staged plays over the last three years.

Nirantar Udyavar is now all set to host ‘Nirantar Natakotsav 2022’ for the fourth year. The drama festival will be held at ICYM Udyavar golden jubilee stage here on Udyavar church grounds. Four dramas will be staged during these days. ‘Rayachi Navi Mustaiki’ by team Astitva directed by Kristi Ninansam and ‘Muza Putacho Kinkulo’ by team Mandd Sobhann directed by Vikas Kalakul will be staged on February 11. On February 12, ‘Hando Utla’ by team Astitva directed by Denis Monteiro and on February 13, ‘Sampadle’ by team Astitva, directed by Christi Ninansam will be staged. The show begins at 6 pm Sharp. Entry for audience is free.

Nirantar Udyavar was the dream child of Udyavrities Steevan Colaco and Michel D'Souza who wanted to create something new and unique in the Konkani art field. As there were less opportunities for the people of Udupi to witness Konkani cultural programmes in their hometowns, Nirantar Udyavar was established to bridge the gap. On August 12, 2018 Nirantar Udyavar came into existence. ‘Vechogi Ravcho’ by Pradeep Barboza Paladka became the first drama to be hosted by Nirantar Udyavar.

"Many donors and well-wishers have contributed over the years for our organization. Our next plan is to establish an independent office and also to register our organization. We are also planning to get aid from the government for our activities," says Steevan Colaco Udyavar, president, Nirantar Udyavar.

Your efforts are appreciated. It is nice to see organization to showcase konkani drama is coming up in places like Udyavar, far from the city. So far drama activities were concentrated only in the city. All the best Nirantar udyavar.
