Udupi: Sunil Kumar blames Congress for Hijab-saffron controversy in state

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Feb 7: "Everyone is expected to uphold the dress code decided by the state government. The Hijab-saffron controversy is a part of a bigger hidden agenda. The state government will crush this hidden agenda. Those who cannot honour the law of the land have no right to remain here. Equality is more important than circulars and laws. Glorification of religious issues is not a welcome development. This controversy is a part of the Congress toolkit. Parents of the girls who are adamant on wearing the Hijab have to understand this hidden agenda," said minister Sunil Kumar, speaking to media persons here on Sunday February 6.

Kumar also gave a clarion call to the Muslim women to join the mainstream of the society. He told them that Islam has been trying to keep them under check and inside their veils. He reminded them that the BJP had ensured their security and safety by removing the triple talaq provision. He pointed that an unfortunate custom that is non-existent anywhere else in the world is being practised in India. He also apprehended that if such things are allowed, in future, there may be a demand to conduct classes in Urdu.

"There is no provision to allow individual freedom here. The law relating to the wearing of uniforms is equally applicable to even those who wear the saffron clothes," he stated.

For this man, more than mask, suffron shawl is most important. What message he is giving to public? Shame on you MLA's. No masks and your government asking people to wear masks. Coming back to his comments, in order to supress the failures of his government, this controversy has been created just to divert the attention of people. Now you blame Congress. Good that he did not blame Nehru for this. Look at the Karkala roads (especially the main market road). Development is big zero and still people elect these kind of scoundrels. God save India...

Mr. Minister, don’t you have anything else to speak or discuss? Full time wasting everybody’s time with the hijab controversy. You only want to hide your failures and non performance with various non issues related to minorities. You were not elected by the people and paid for with tax payers” money just for this, there is much to a minister’s job description and responsibilities towards his constituency.
