Mangalore, Dec 26: The JD(S) party which has been hurling allegations of huge amounts of corruption in the BJP government is confident of winning double the number of seats in the upcoming TP and ZP election as compared to the previous polls, said former chief minister and JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy.
He was addressing a press meet held before his public meeting at Deralakatte here on Sunday December 26.
"We are confident of a twofold increase in the number seats in the coastal districts this time as it was the JD(S) that exposed the corruption made by the BJP government in a short span of time and brought it to public light," he said, and added that Congress also failed to act as a strong opposition party thereby transfering the responsibility to the JD(S).
Commenting on the arrival of Bangarappa in the JD(S) fold, the former CM said this shows that leaders and the people in particular have found JD(S) as their ray of hope for the future.
By terming chief minister B S Yeddyurappa's land allocations as 'immoral and not illegal,' BJP national president Nitin Gadkari has proved that the BJP has paved the way for corruption, Kumaraswamy alleged.
Reacting to a question by a media person, Kumarswamy said he had not visited the coastal districts earlier as his party was not a large one, but now it seems to be.

Beltangady, Dec 26: The BJP which speaks about Hindutva failed in upholding the tenets of Hinduism when its national president Nitin Gadkari recently stated 'immoral' and 'illegal' as being different terms, thereby justifying Yeddyurappa's actions in land allocation scam, said JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy.
He was referring to the recent comment made by Gadkari on chief minister B S Yeddyurappa's land allocation allegations which the former termed as being 'immoral' but not 'illegal.'
Kumaraswamy who was in Ujire here on Sunday December 26 to campaign for the upcoming elections, also demanded BJP’s clarification on the matter, and questioned as to how can immorality be accepted in Hinduism in the light of Gadkari's statement.
The citizens of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi who supported Congress and BJP for many years are now attracted towards JD(S) for its genuine interest towards people. Kumaraswamy also condemned the state government on the allegations of fraud regarding the saree distribution project.
