Kaup. Feb 11: Sowjanya (22), residing near Brahmasthana Road, Padubidri in the taluk, ended her life on Thursday February 10 by hanging herself. She hanged from a noose she made by using a sari, the other end of which was tied to a metal hook in the roof ceiling.
The lady was working for Wipro Ltd, Bengaluru. Due to coronavirus pandemic, she was working from home for the last ten months. She killed herself when her parents were away visiting Surathkal on Thursday afternoon in the room where she always worked.
The incident came to light after her parents returned home during late afternoon hours. Even though the young lady's grandmother was at home, she did not have an inkling of what had happened, it is gathered.
Plausible reasons for the suicide could not be ascertained immediately. Padubidri police station personnel have registered a case and begun investigation.
