Mangaluru: A Shama Rao Foundation, Srinivas institutions observe Founder's Day

Mangaluru Feb 14: The Founder’s Day celebration of A Shama Rao Foundation, Srinivas University and Srinivas Group of Institutions was held on Monday, February 14 at the Srinivas University campus in Pandeshwar.

Chairman of the New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) Dr Venkata Ramana Akkaraju, in his founder’s day lecture, said, "We should try to contribute to the society in one or the other way for its upliftment. A student needs to be focused on achieving in their life. Students look up to their teachers as their role models. Teachers need to make teaching more interesting as well. We should all join hands to work harder for the society and nation through our innovation, knowledge and skills to fulfill the dreams of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to boost our economy.

 

Felicitation

Srinivas Group also recognises key achievers in the field of Social Service. This year, C S Radhika (female ambulance driver, Cauvery Ambulances, Kulai) and Varun Alva (assistant sub inspector, Reserve Police, Mangaluru) were honoured with A Shama Rao Memorial Award 2021-22 for their bravery and outstanding service in the field of social work.

Ramananda, Hindi language teacher Grade-II, Government English Medium High School, Daddalakadu, Bantwal taluk, Dakshina Kannada and Dr Saroja M, lecturer in Biology, Bhandarkars’ PU College, Kundapur, Udupi district were feted with A Shama Rao Memorial Outstanding Teacher Awards 2022 for their contribution in the field of education in undivided Dakshina Kannada district.

On this occasion, Dr Sandhya Shenoy of Srinivas University was also felicitated for her contribution in the field of Research. Charles K C, Student of Srinivas University was honoured for his international recognition in the field of painting.

In addition, 12 PhD degree awardees and 8 gold medal achievers were felicitated on this occasion.

Chancellor of Srinivas University Dr C A A Raghavendra Rao, wife of Dr Venkata Ramana Akkaraju, Dr Sushma, Trustee member, Board of Governors S Vijayalaxmi R Rao, A Mithra S Rao, Padmini Kumar, Vice chancellor Dr P S Aithal, Meghana and others were present.

Pro chancellor of Srinivas University Dr A Srinivas Rao welcomed the gathering, registrar development Ajay Kumar proposed a vote of thanks and Dr Ambika Mallya compered the event.
