Kundapur, Feb 16: "The Lord instantly accepts devotion that springs from within. One gets a sense of contentment when he surrenders to the Lord with devotion purified by devotion from inside. People of this area have this kind of devotion in them. They uphold righteousness and justice. Even after external attire undergoes changes due to changing times, humane quality as to remain untouched," said Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari, Dr D Veerendra Heggade.
He was delivering a religious message at the religious gathering organized as part of the installation of a new flag staff and Brahmakalashotsava which were held in Lord Kotilingeshwara temple in Koteshwar after a gap of 67 years.
"Atheism is slowly sinking into oblivion and theists are establishing themselves again. The consciousness about the need to remain religious among the youth is sprouting back in their minds again. We always need the guidance of righteousness and we cannot live without that," he analysed.
Heggade said that when the prevalence of divinity in temples gets reinforced, it can drive away faults if any among the devotees. "Therefore, Brahmakalashotsava and other rituals and procedures being held to augment the divinity in the temples are very important. Temples should always stay within the framework of the ancient ideals," he said.
On this occasion, Sri Vishwavallabha Teertha Swamiji of Vadiraja Math Udupi delivered benedictory address.
