Daijiworld Media Network - Dubai

Dubai, Feb 19: 'Jinnie Sotam,' a collection of essays by Dayan D'Souza Mukamar was released during the recent Daiji Dubai Anniversary celebration held at Airport Millenium Hotel Dubai.

The book was released by Daijiworld Media CEO and MD Walter Nandalike along with writer Irshad Moodbidri, Nanu Marol Thottam, Rajesh D'Souza, Lavina D'Souza in the presence of Dayan D'Souza Mukamar.

Addressing the gathering after releasing the book, Walter Nandalike lauded Dayan and said, "Dayan D'Souza Mukamar’s thoughts and talks are an inspiration to all of us. He is skilled in explaining complex topics in very simple words while spicing it with humour in his very own unique style. All the essays in this book are his own life experiences in different situations and periods which he has shared with us.

"I am very happy that he has put together his best articles in the book 'Jinnie Sotam' and released it today for all of us. Essays in this book will help all of us in our day-to-day life. I am sure the readers will take lots of good things and will gain beautiful insights into life from this book. I am honoured to release this book along with noted writer Irshad Moodbidri and I am indebted to Dayan D'Souza for choosing me to release his book.

"As a selfless leader who has always put others before himself and mentored future leaders, Dayan D'Souza has strived for the betterment of Daiji Dubai forum. He is a proven leader, an actor, a social worker and a gifted writer. Unfortunately, as his passion to promote Konkani activities increased, the writer in him took a backseat. In short, he was busy in his selfless mission of developing other people's talents. It is very difficult in this part of the world to focus on writing with tension at work place, responsibilities of the family and other related pressures. But due to continuous pressure from his friends like me and others, he started to write again and thus he has proved all of us that nothing is impossible because, where there is a way there is a will," Nandalike said.

"Dayan’s vision and observation skills are very sharp. The subjects he has picked are very simple, such as those happening in our neighbourhood and in our vicinity. We frequently come across such incidents but later easily forget them, but Dayan has picked them as anecdotes, and spending quality time with his thoughts, explained the good and bad consequences of such incidents in simple words for the benefit of society. The result is his book 'Jinnie Sotam'. The articles in this book should be read not simply for leisure but be treated as a collection of ideas, thoughts and advices by Dayan to implement in our own life.

"We read stories, novels, articles and poems mostly because of our reading habits or to gain some knowledge but most of the time we do not implement the thoughts of the writer in our life. But this book is full of advices. Most of the topics and explanations will definitely help us in our life. By regularly reading this book over and over again it will be possible to lead a happy, model life. Readers will surely treat this books as life guide," he said.

Dayan D'Souza thanked Daiji Prakashan for taking the initiative to publish the book. He also thanked Walter Nandalike and Irshad Moodbidri for releasing the book, Stany Bela for guidance and motivation to resume his writing, Naveen Sequeira of www.maibhaas.com for publishing his articles, and Vincy Pinto Angelore for coordinating the entire process. He also thanked his wife and other family members for their unconditional support throughout his journey.

Congratulations Dayan , I know Dayan since his Childhood....always found him talented kid....never thought he would be a talented actor and write....good to know that.... Same with Walty... In my opinion, talent comes from birth....then we need to polish it by our exposure to the world .....to be successful and to be recognized by society... I wish his book is available online, like in Amazon so we could pay online and download it in seconds.... Good luck Dayan and Walty... Regards, Langoolacharya.

Congratulations Dayan!. From the day I first met you at St. Aloysius college Hostel, I have seen your leadership and inspiring nature. Always positive and ready to take initiative. I was deeply touched when you opted to donate funds to a palliative care home instead of making grand celebration of your silver wedding anniversary. I personally know, how you have taken initiative to help Konkani writers who are financially down. I am very happy that now you have published your motivational book. All the best to you.
