Bengaluru: FIR lodged over protest outside residences of Congress leaders

Bengaluru, Feb 21: An FIR has been registered against people who staged a protest in front of the residences of KPCC president D K Shivakumar and leader of opposition Siddaramaiah over the Mahadayi issue.

On February 14, a protest was staged by people who opposed the Goa election manifesto on not releasing water from Mahadayi to Karnataka.


The protest was led by Dr Ravi Shetty Bendoor, state president of Karnataka state labour parishad, Kumar of Nagamangala and K N Kumar.

A case was filed against the protesters on charges of causing public disturbance as they did not seek prior permission for the same.

The FIR has been registered based on a complaint given by head constable Manjunath of Sadashivanagar police station.
