Mangaluru: Police arrest two in Panjimogaru prayer centre demolition case

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Feb 21: Two person have been arrested in connection with the demolition of a prayer centre at Panjimogaru earlier this month.

The arrested accused have been identified as Latheesh (28), a resident of Bajpe, and Dhananjay (36), a resident of Kodikal.

Dhananjay (L) and Latheesh

Both have been produced in the court and sent to judicial custody.

Neither of them has any criminal record, police said.

The prayer center building, run by St Antony Church of Kulur, was razed to the ground on February 5. It is alleged that Shri Satya Korddabbu Seva Samithi, violating the stay order from the court, entered the compound of the prayer center and demolished the building, compound wall, and trees. An anganwadi was also being run at the premises.

The incident happened at Panjimogaru, Kulur and the culprits are from Bajpe and Kodikal. So this was done by some outsider and not the local people. The local MLA was so vehement that this is illegal and supported the people. The tahsildar also brought the map to prove that the MLA is right. Now, where is the MLA can't he rescue these innocent people. Because the case was at High Court all drama now else the DC will be hauled.

They should be asked to pay for the physical damage done ,once they pay from their pockets it will be a good example for other antisocial elements to be careful . Unless people are made to pay for any physical damages they create be it to government property ,religious or even private property there will be no control. Biggest tragedy is people arent afraid of the law as it is hardly implemented.

dear Cynthia, Dk, Forgiving is a command from the Lord. As far as the Ten Commandments, the Lord summarized mainly as two- 1. Love thy God (Shema Israel) 2. Love thy Neighbor. Loving thy neighbor includes forgiving too and many more virtues. There is no option in Christianity. Either one has Faith or No faith!

Dan sir.... thank you for clarifying the points. I agree, jesus said in his preachings about forgiveness. When one og of the disciplies asked is it sufficient to forgive 7 times ? Jesus answered seventy times 7.....that means innumerable times. In this present world, is it possible sir ? Our great legend wilfyab's one song is there on this topic... title is "AISO SAUNSAR FOTKIRO...TU BHERO ZAINAKA.." .i was going through ten commandments as per the meaning of each commandment..... This is not argument ...just expressed my views... have a beautiful day...
