Shivamogga, Feb 22: Youth empowerment and sports minister, Dr Narayana Gowda, who also happens to be the district in-charge minister of Shivamogga, has said that no organiation was involved in the murder of Bajrang Dal worker Harsha.
"Minor enmity is said to be beind this murder. Detailed investigation will bring out the truth," he said.
The minister visited the residence of Harsha in Seegehatti on Monday February 21 and consoled the grieving members of the victim's family. He also presented an ex-gratia of Rs one lac to the family.
Speaking to media persons later, he revealed that as soon as he arrived here from Bengaluru, he held a meeting with deputy commissioner, Dr Selvamani, inspector general, and superintendent of police, Laxmi Prasad.
"I have collected all the details. The officials have been instructed to ensure that the law and order situation is continuously monitored and to maintain peace in the district. I will stay tonight and keep an eye on the developments," he said.
"Three persons have been arrested relating to this murder. There is suspicion about the involvement of two more, and a probe is on. The situation is under control, and steps will be taken to make sure that such incidents do not recur. Police vigil has been strengthened," he added.
Gowda said he had visited the residence of Harsha and expressed sympathy to the family members. "Harsha was the only son of his parents. We are with this family at this trying time. We will also teach a fitting lesson to miscreants to see that such incidents do not happen again. We will bring to book elements which work to spoil the atmosphere of communal harmony in the state," Dr Narayana Gowda said.
