Bengaluru, Feb 22: "Shivamogga happens to be a good district that has given three chief ministers (CM) to Karnataka. Irrespective of differences we have on party affiliations and ideologies, I admire Yediyurappa for developing the district in a big way. But no police officer will like to get posted to this district because it witnesses commotions repeatedly which we keep seeing there often," commented Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, D K Shivakumar.

Speaking at the Vidhana Soudha, Shivakumar said that Eshwarappa has been killing the citizens of his home district even when they are alive. "This has also delivered a deadly blow on the financial turnover of the district. We have no qualms on who should be arrested and who should not be. We have neither any bias or any obligation on this issue. But the persons who are actually guilty should be punished," he urged.

Shivakumar said that the unbroken day-night protest demonstration by the Congress leaders continues in Vidhana Soudha and that his party leaders who have spent five nights there, are fighting against the insult meted out to the National Flag.

"We 52 legislators are involved and we spend the night there too. We will continue the protest even today. There is inside information that the government plans to cut short the session. If the session is curtailed, we will complain to the governor and demand for the ouster of the minister who is a traitor," he warned.

Shivakummar said that the murder which has happened in Shivamogga should not have happened. He reasoned that the disturbances reached such a huge scale because of the fact that a minister took over the reins when section 144 was enforced. "Siddaramaiah often keeps saying that Eshwarappa's tongue is not linked to his brain. His observation appears to be true by the way Eshwarappa has spoken and continues to speak," he said.
