Mangaluru, Feb 26: "I came to Ullal to take part in the Uroos programme. I will also visit other assembly constituencies of Dakshina Kannada. I will also expose the irregularities, corruption and anti-people policies of the BJP-led state government. How the state is becoming pauper after BJP came to power. How there is no development in the state," said former chief minister and opposition leader Siddaramaiah.

The former chief minister was in Kallapu, Thokkottu and was speaking to Ullal and Mudipu block Congress activists here on Saturday February 26.

"People of Dakshina Kannada are politically mature. We should not support any political party without analysing it. Is it in favour of the public? Is it responding to people's problems? BJP is in power in the state. We should know how corrupt they have become after assuming power. I was the chief minister. Khader was a minister and even Ramanath Rai was the minister. But we had no personal allegations against us or our government.

“After this government came to power, corruption is rampant. A contractor has written a letter to Narendra Modi that a 40% bribe should be paid to this government. Do you want this government or you want to chase them away? A day will come that this government will be chased away and their corruption will be exposed,” he said.

Siddaramaiah also alleged that the BJP has stopped several programmes introduced by the Congress. "They do not have the budget for development projects but have money to purchase MLAs,” he said.

Later, he visited Thokkottu Kordabbu daivasthana and Ullal Dargha.
