Udupi: Swamiji amazes cyclists at ‘Ride for Health’ Cyclothon

Udupi, Feb 27: The Canara Bank Circle office Manipal, Vaidyakiya Prakostha and Vasanthi A Pai Prathishtana had jointly conducted a "Ride for Health" cyclothon to a tremendous response.

Sri Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math flagged off the cyclothon at Canara Bank Circle office, Manipal on Sunday, February 27. Padmavathi, DGM, Canara Bank Circle office, Manipal, Dr Madhusudhan Udupa, DHO, Udupi were present on the occasion.

More than 110 cyclists pedaled from Manipal to Sea Walk, Malpe to spread awareness on Swacch Bharath Abhiyan and environmental protection. Dr Vijayendra Rao, member, state council, conducted a quiz for the participants.

Flagging off the cyclothon, Sri Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji said, "Healthy body has healthy mind. The vision of our prime minister to build a stable nation should be supported by all of us. I commend the organizers for their efforts." Swamiji also cycled and amazed other cyclists.

Padmavathi, DGM Canara Bank circle office, Manipal, addressing the gathering said, "Earlier we did not have the concept of fitness. Our lifestyle was different. Younger generation is much conscious about fitness which we should appreciate. It is a proud moment for us to sponsor this event."

Dr. Vidhyadhar Shetty, co convener Vaidyakiya Prakostha Dr Ramachandra Kamath, Convener, Dr Jagadish Pai of Bharathuya Vikas Trust and others were present on the occasion.
