Moodbidri: Novena Begins at Infant Jesus Shrine, Alangar


Moodbidri, Jan 8: Novena prayers for Infant Jesus began at the Alangar Church.

Hundreds of devotees thronged the shrine on the day one. First day of novena was inaugurated by Fr George Santhumayor, the director of Carmel Hill, Mangalore. Even the stalls were crowded.

Rev Fr Andrew D’Souza the director of Mudipu Shrine will conduct the novena on Saturday January 8.

Fr George Santhumayor preached about bearing witness to Jesus Christ quoting the example of late Archbishop Romero who was shot dead while celebrating mass. We too must be ready to suffer for the sake of justice and for the values of the kingdom, he said.
A large number of intentions were prayed during the adoration that preceded the
