Bantwal, Feb 28: Former minister B Ramanath Rai visited Panolibail Sri Kallurti Daivasthana in the taluk on Sunday February 27. He prayed to Kallurti, who is believed to always side with the truthful, to see that those who have levelled unfounded allegations against him are handed down harshest punishment for this sin.
"Four years back, Sharat Madiwala was murdered in Sajipa village in Bantwal taluk. The police have arrested the culprits and a hearing is in progress in the court. At this time, the father of Sharat, Taniappa Madiwala, had made certain outright false allegations about my involvement in the murder which hurt me badly," Rai said. He stated that this politically inclined false allegation appears to have changed the direction of the probe that is in progress now. Therefore, he visited Kallurti Daivasthana, took a religious vow, praying to the divine to punish him if he had any hand in Sharat's murder, and if not, to inflict harshest punishment on those who have or will level false allegations against him in the case.
