Former Miss India-Earth Amruta Patki to Crown 'Hyssna Miss Daijiworld'

Mumbai, Jan 12: Even as the countdown begins for the announcement of the winner of Hyssna Miss Daijiworld-2010, and the moment for crowning of the much-talked about photogenic title of the year nears, former Miss India-Earth (2006), former Miss Earth (2006) and well-known model of the current generation Amruta Patki has agreed to crown the 'Hyssna Miss Daijiworld.'

The crowning ceremony will be held at the Mumbai Cricket Association, Inning Hall, Bandra-Kurla Complex on Wednesday January 12.

Amruta Patki was the Ponds Femina Miss India-Earth 2006. At the international Miss Earth pageant, she was chosen as the Miss Earth Air 2006 (first runner up).

The official ceremony of Daijiworld.com deccenial celebrations will begin at 7 pm, while 'Hyssna Miss Daijiworld' crowning ceremomy will begin at around 8.30pm. The sponsor of the event Ronald Pinto and Dorothy Pinto of Hyssna International along with other dignitaries will also be present on the occassion.

Three best photogenic faces have been selected through public voting and by an independent panel of judges for the finals. It may be recalled that  Daijiworld initiated the contest on November 14, 2010 by inviting entries from all over the world from girls aged between 16 and 28. A tremendous response and media awareness was generated by the contest and a total of 1241 entries were received through online entry forms, hard copies by courier/post and office delivieries.

Top 150 photos were selected in the first round of the judging process by a panel of judges and eventually the best 10 entries were posted online for public voting.

Anjali Shetty of Mangalore, Monica Priyanka D'Souza of Mumbai and Rashmi Rebello of Manipal were selected for the final three spots by the judges as well as through public voting.

Ever since, there has been a great interest generated among the public who have been speculating about the final winner as well as conveying their wishes to their favourite contestant.

The result will be announced during the event.

Former Miss Daijiworld (2005-06) Melita Pinto will conduct the proceedings of crowning ceremony while Amruta Patki will crown the winner.

A cash prize of Rs 50,000 will be presented to Miss Daijiworld. The first and the second runners-up will get Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000 cash prize respectively.

Leslie Rego, Mangalore's numero-uno compere will compere the entire Daijiworld Deccennial event.

Live streamings of the proceedings will be available on daijiworld.com from 7 pm onwards on January 12.
