Mangaluru: NITK assistant professor critical after falling from fifth floor

Mangaluru, Mar 4: Manish Kumar (36), working as assistant professor in NITK Surathkal here suffered critical injuries after he accidentally fell from the fifth floor of Agraja Apartment, Mukka near Surathkal on the evening of Thursday March 3.

Manish, who stays in a rented flat in the second floor of the said apartment complex, had visited the roof of the apartment to check the functioning of the Airtel dish antenna connection that was newly fitted by a worker. Manish fell down through the transparent fibre shield provided at the fifth floor.

Manish who suffered serious injuries, was taken to A J Hospital where he was admitted into the intensive care unit. Treatment is going on. It is learnt that he has suffered serious internal injuries inside the stomach and a surgery has already been performed. There are external injuries to his right leg and his hand is fractured for which also surgery was performed. The doctors have said that his condition continues to be critical.

    Get well soon professor...May god show his miracles as early as possible....At once i got shocked looking at the bldgs name, area.... it looked like Raheja waterfront, surathkal. I thought jossey sirs bldg and might be his neighbor...! Afterwards it got clarified....
