Mangaluru: Hijab controversy - Indefinite holiday for car street college

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Mar 5: Indefinite holiday has been declared for Dayananda Pai-Sathish Pai government first grade college in car street here where Hijab controversy has been vitiating atmosphere for the last three days. Under the instructions of the deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, all the examinations have been postponed for the present.

The college has sent messages to students informing that online classes will be conducted for now. It may be recalled that a second year degree girl student of the college has complained to Bunder police station about blocking entry of Hijab clad girls at the college and engaging in verbal friction.

The managing committee has informed the students about the indefinite holiday in view of the volatile situation.

This indefinite holiday clearly shows the trust of the minority that represents 30% of the population in the Indian Constitution. KS Eshwarappa, is probably right on his and his communities' patience. Most importantly, why indefinite holiday? Why not regular classes and do not admit those into college who lack education enough to follow court order. It is a college and not Kindergarten.
