Bangalore, Jan 17: Archbishop and president of Karnataka Catholic Bishop Conference Fr Bernard Moras received cardinal Joseph William Lavada, prefect of the congregation for the doctrine of faith of the Roman curia at Bangalore international airport today, here on Sunday, January 16.
Cardinal was accompanied by other officials from his curia namely, archbishop Ladaria, Fr Sciclunia secretary and Fr Geissler and bishop of Pune Fr Thomas Dabre.
Cardinal Lavada is in Bangalore to participate in the colloquium of bishops and theologians which will be held from January 16 to 22. Archbishop Salvatore Pennacchio, apostolic nuncio to India will join the gathering on January 18.
Cardinal Lavada will offer mass at St Francis Xavier's Cathedral on January 23 at 8.30a.m. He will impart apostolic blessings for the faithful of India.
