Mangalore, Jan 17: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, Krishna J Palemar, said that the state government has been trying its best to meet the needs of the police department, and that towards this end, it has been taking steps to revive and renovate every police station and other offices all over the state.

He was speaking after inaugurating the new building of the Mangalore rural circle inspector’s office at Ullal near here on Sunday January 16. “Law and order, as well as peace, prevails when the policemen work efficiently. We can expect good work from them only when we are able to provide the police department with high quality modern arms, basic infrastructure etc,” he added.

Western range inspector general of police, Alok Mohan, said that the police department will be able to get goodwill and credit, when the policemen work earnestly and transparently.

MLA, U T Khader, Dakshina Kannada superintendent of police, Dr Subrahmanyeshwar Rao, city police commissioner, Seemant Kumar Singh, Mangalore Housing Board assistant executive engineer, Chandrakant, deputy commissioners of police, Ramesh Kumar and Mutturaya, Mangalore rural circle inspector, Lingappa Poojary, and Ullal municipal president, Basil D’Souza, were present.
