Mangalore, Jan 18:
Pramod Kumar Pandey, in-charge of the state unit of the Karnataka Congress Seva Dal said that Seva Dal will get a face-lift in order to attract youth and fight against BJP and other parties who have been misguiding the public.

He was speaking at a press conference held at Dakshina Kannada district congress office here on Tuesday January 18.

He complained that BJP has been involving in activities that are threatening secularism and misguiding people. BJP is also manipulating the social system by attracting youth for its deceitful works, he alleged.

Elaborating on Seva Dal’s plans, he said that a one-day workshop will be organized in all the districts of the state to train the volunteers and thereby Seva Dal will attract more youngsters in the days to come. He pointed out that new caps and uniforms will be provided to the Seva Dal activists in order to attract youth towards the organization.

Already the workshop has been initiated in four districts viz Chikballapur, Karwar, Udupi and Gulbarga. This will be extended to each district by end of March, Pandey said.

Coming down heavily BJP’s stand on the Ram Mandir issue, he said that several leaders in the same party have differences of opinion thereby confusing the people.

Speaking about the National BJP Yuva Morcha’s programme of hoisting national flag at Lal Chowk, Srinagar on January 26, he said it is another gimmick played by the party leaders. But Seva Dal activists do not play any negative tricks to attract the youth, he added.

Local Congress leaders were present at the press meet.

Congress Sevadal can attract the youth if the District Organiser is able to spread the Sevadal values to the youth.

Mr. Ashraf is neither trained nor knows the values. Congress has done a mistake by ing such person to lead the Sevadal in DK.

Veterans who built Sevadal are not invited for such function. Sevadal will be ruined if Sevadal is in the hands of such inexperienced people.

Being a product of such a desciplined Unit, I am pained by the happenings of Sevadal in DK.
