Bengaluru, Mar 14: The first of its kind Digital Water Bank ‘AQVERIUM’ formed by AquaKraft Group Ventures, a next-generation sustainability, and impact enterprise focused on providing clean drinking water and sanitation, was launched on Monday, March 14.
Launching the Digital Startup AQVERIUM headquartered in Bengaluru, Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, Minister for IT/BT and S&T said: "This is a very unique innovation combining sustainable and green technologies along with information technology, skill development and entrepreneurship. The Start-up has a holistic approach towards finding a much-needed solution to a crisis that not only India but the world is staring at."
Clean Water and Water security is the key for India to become a US $ 5 trillion economy, Dr Narayan said and mentioned that the Indian water and sanitation market opportunity which was pegged at US $ 297 billion is highly unorganised and the need of the hour is a comprehensive 360 degrees approach towards water management as a blend of green and sustainable treatment technologies.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Subramanya Kusnur, Founder Chairman & CEO AquaKraft Group Ventures said, AQVERIUM intends to function as a Centre for Innovation, Sustainability and Social Entrepreneurship proposed as Digital University to train over 10 lakh youth in Water, Sanitation, Hydrogeological Sciences and Data Sciences.
The company offers Unique Social Franchising Model to create Water Entrepreneurs with an objective to make India ‘Water +ve’ by 2030, he said.
Vinay Rao, Co-Founder, AquaKraft Digital Ventures Pvt. Ltd. said AQVERIUM endeavours to account for every drop of water and will offer Corporates, Communities, Panchayats a fiduciary and digital framework to generate a Water balance sheet.
It will also offer a comprehensive digital solution to farmers empowering them with accurate information regarding rainfall, water table, and water rejuvenation, he said.
“One of the key focus areas of AQVERIUM is going to be schools and colleges to inculcate the sense of effective Water Management and fiduciary framework of accounting among students,” said C Sridhar, Director AquaKraft Group Ventures.
