Mumbai: Jaya A Shetty to represent Konkan Railway consumer’s committee

Mumbai, Mar 14: Konkan Railway Corporation has appointed Shiv Chatrapathi awardee, former Maharashtra Kabaddi player and sports organizer Jayaram A Shetty as the representative of Konkan Railway consumer’s advisory committee till January 31, 2023.

The committee of 24 members includes eight members each from Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka and Kerala and four MLAs. It also has four members from the Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Railway passenger’s association.

Shetty has served as the secretary of Indian Bank’s association sports board, and CEO of International Kabaddi Federation. He was the organizing committee member during the first international Kabaddi tournament in Mumbai in 2004. He has been a sports enthusiast of Bunts Sangha for the last 35 years. He is well connected with Mumbai cricket association and Maharashtra labour welfare board sports division. The first KRUCC meeting will be held in Goa on April 22, 2022.
