Udupi, Mar 16: Yashpal Suvarna, vice president of the government girls PU college monitoring committee, addressed a press conference in the city on Wednesday March 16.
Suvarna felt that with the delivery of this judgement, curtains have come down on all kinds of Hijab controversies. He hailed the judgement as having been within the framework of the constitution authored by Dr B R Ambedkar.
"We are clear that no religion is more important than the judiciary and constitution. Certain people had approached the high court against the decision of the monitoring committee. People claim that the committee decisions were illegal and politically motivated. But the same people sought legal recourse through the court but have now showed disrespect to the judicial system," he stated.
Suvarna said that it has been proved that the people who created this controversy are members of terrorist organizations. "You may recall that I had made similar allegation in the past. The girl students who question the judiciary, are not fit to live in this country. Let them go to a country where they are allowed to practice their religions. The paid leaders of the Campus Front of India were issuing enthusiastic statements till now, but once the judgement was delivered, they changed their tone. Their main aim is to disturb peace in coastal Karnataka. We will root out both the Campus Front of India and Popular Front of India," he asserted.
Suvarna remarked that when people try to make Siddaramaiah to wear saffron, he throws the cloth away but in the Uroos, he does not hesitate to wear the cap which reflects allegiance to Islam. He reiterated his earlier statement that only those who respect law will get a chance to study in the girls PU college here and the others are not eligible to be the citizens of this country. He also spelt out the next goal as uniform civil code and creation of Hindu nation.
