Mar 17: Dakshina Kannada reports 5 Covid cases, Udupi 4 infections

Mangaluru/Udupi, Mar 17:Dakshina Kannada on Thursday, March 17, reported 5 new coronavirus case while Udupi registered four cases.

The total number of positive cases in Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,35,462 out of which 23 are currently active.

As many as 3 patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,849.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,00,980 as fine in 96,163 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Four positive cases were reported on Thursday. The total active Covid cases have risen to four. No patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday.

Udupi taluk reported 4 cases, Kundapura 0 and 0 cases in Karkala.

A total of 10,52,298 people have received first dose of vaccination and 991571 have received both doses and 48,351 people have received booster dose.
