Puttur, Mar 19: Two brothers who were returning home in a scooter after pacifying a bereaved family met a gory death in road accident. The accident happened between a KSRTC bus and scooter near Nandibetta, Gardadi in Padangady village near Venoor in Beltangady taluk on Friday March 18. The fact that these deaths were caused on the day the village was celebrating a festival deepened the feeling of sadness among the people of the Hirebandady area near Uppinangady.

Hammabba Siraj (28) and his brother, Kajutubuddin Sadiq (32), children of retired teacher Abdul Razack, a resident of Hirebandady near Uppinangady, were the ones who were killed in the accident together.

The duo was returning home after visiting their elder brother living in Venoor, who had lost its four-year-old son due to ill health on Thursday, and pacifying the grieving family members.

Immediately after the accident, residents of Goliangady, with the support of others, took the injured brothers who were in serious condition, to hospital. However, both had lost their lives before they could be treated.

The deceased were both employed abroad. They reportedly had come back home five months ago. They have left behind their mother, eight brothers and six sisters.
