Bantwal: Godse’s descendants spoiling coastal region's peace, harmony – Siddaramaiah

Bantwal, Mar 19: “Godse’s descendants are spoiling the peace and harmony of the coastal region. Godse was a fanatic. RSS, Bajrang Dal, Sri Rama Sene and Sangh Parivar are the followers of Godse and Savarkar,” said former Karnataka chief minister and opposition leader, Siddaramaiah.

He was speaking after inaugurating the concluding campaign programme of ‘Yuvakara Nade Samarasyada Kade Grama Chalo’.

“Is there any evidence that RSS leaders took part in the country’s independence? Should we learn the lesson of patriotism from them? BJP is trying to gain by politicising the recent murder of a Hindu worker at Shivamogga. Eshwarappa had conducted a procession even when Section 144 was in force. Though he arranged lacs of compensation from the government for the murder, why did he not urge for compensation for the murder of Dinesh at Beltangady. The government has provided a small compensation as I urged for it,” he said.

“There are attempts to weaken the constitution by the BJP.” He asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi if he would have become PM if there was no constitution. “Why was MP Anant Kumar Hegde who said that he will change the constitution not dismissed from his position? The country will live only when the young community decides to throw away BJP. Should the BJP, who could not provide a shelter for the poor, remain in power? Congress should come to power in the state if the society should live in harmony. The country stands on the strength of all the religions. PM Modi does not speak about growth. He speaks only about emotional matters. Youth mould the future of the country. They should unite under the principle of secularism. Panemangalore Youth Congress president Nawaz has done that work,” he said.

“The health of society is spoiled in the coastal district. The country can develop only when there is peace and tranquillity. We should live with mutual love and faith. There is nothing worse than when one differentiates on the basis of religion. Stop fighting for caste and religion and unite as one for the progress of the country,” he said.

Former minister B Ramanath Rai in his introductory address said that Congress is the only party that loved people of all walks of lives. “The secular fabric in the country should be strengthened. Those who are deprived of social justice should be provided justice,” he said.

“People of Dakshina Kannada district have received the highest amount of land under Land Reforms Act. People of Bantwal have received the highest 94C title deeds under the scheme of former chief minister Siddaramaiah which should not be forgotten,” he said. He asked the youth to work for a glorious India, secularism and unity.

Meanwhile P A Rahim, Mohammed Shafi and B Mohan joined Congress in the presence of Siddaramaiah. Sudheer Maroli in his keynote address said that the secular principles of Shankeracharya and Kanakadasa are true. “Congress party takes the society forward on those principles,” he said.

District Congress president Harish Kumar, former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, former MLC Ivan D’ Souza, Manjunath Bhandary, senior Congress leader B H Khader, Youth Congress president Luqman, former Youth Congress president Mithun Rai, former MLA Moideen Bava, Bantwal municipal council president Mohammed Sharif, Youth Congress chief secretary Berryl Rego, vice president Girish Alva, Pradesh Congress committee chief secretary B A Bava, Shalet Pinto, Kripa Amar Alva, Mamatha Gatti, Shahul Hameed, Pius Rodrigues, block Congress president Baby Kunder, Sudeep Shetty, former district panchayat member Padmashekar Jain, M S Mohammed, Chandraprakash Shetty, Shashidhar Hegde and Bantwal block Youth Congress president Suresh Jora were on the dais.

Panemangalore Youth Congress president Nawaz welcomed. Balakrishna Alva and Naufal Kudthamuger compered the programme.

A foot march on harmony was held from B C Road main circle to Kaikamba prior to the programme.

What is all this? , Back to the same rhetorics???? Time for alternate politics to take over the opposition. The people of India need way better opposition than the cxxp that congress is giving here.

You are right . Siddaramiah represents the confusion and total lack of sense of direction that INC suffers.Congress has first supported AAP in Delhi to give them chance. From there starts the rise of AAP. In next election AAP gets full majority and congress came down from Majority to zero. Congress itself while countering BJP with its poor policy has finished its own party and is not understanding that next generation will not going to know name of congress

The Congress has lots of hurdles to overcome prior to take on the BJP. The Grand old party cannot be ignorant to this. 1. Own party leadership crisis both at State and Center level. 2, Shrewed HDK who is awaiting a resurgence of Congress ,for coalition and becoming the CM at the expense of this party. 3. Difference between DKS and Siddu in the run for the CM post. 4. Phenomenal Growth of regional parties like SDPI, JDS & BJP Minority Morcha etc that has drawn youngsters from various factions with lucrative posts. 5. Entry of AAP into State level and national level has now proven a much bigger threat, as they have a similar ideology.
