Davanagere, Mar 21: MLA and former minister Dr Shamanur Shivashankarappa stressed that he will be the next chief minister (CM) of Karnataka if the Congress is voted back to power in the next election.
Speaking to media persons here on Sunday March 20, Shamanur expressed his disappointment at the fact that the media normally projects leader of the opposition, Siddaramaiah, and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president D K Shivakumar, as the prospective chief ministerial candidates.
"With these two leaders, I am also in the race for the post of the CM. If our party rises to power, I will be the next CM of Karnataka. I will enter the election fray again from Davanagere (south) constituency. Do you think I do not have money of potential to contest the election? I have both. I will win the election from Davanagere south constituency again and will also become the next chief minister if all goes well," he explained.
