Udupi, Mar 21: "May the Mahalakshmi Cooperative Bank’s branches come up in Bengaluru city and in other districts with the support of customers and may it provide an honest service to them. The staff of the branches and the customers should extend their cooperation to the administration," said Nadoja Dr G Shankar, proprietor of G Shankar Family Trust.
He was speaking at the customers convention of Mahalakshmi Co-operative Bank held on Saturday, March 19 at Sheshashayana Hall Kediyoor here. He said , “The staff should know the skill of attracting or convincing customers so that there is an avenue to generate employment opportunities. The administrative board should work on banking development and advance facilities. Do not have mistrust and fear on cooperative banks. This bank is strong enough and continues to do business."
President of the Mahalakshmi Co-operative Society Yashpal Suvarna said, “The Mahalakshmi Cooperative Bank will be monitored under the Cooperative Department and Reserve Bank of India. There are eight branches in Dakshina Kannada. The current deposit is Rs 347 crores and Rs 265 crores has been disbursed in loans and advance payments. The total turnover is Rs 605 crores and it is providing 18% dividend to its members for 11 years and working as a customer-friendly service bank."
"The bank has started the Vidyasiri Yojana, a zero balance savings account project and is being offered to students as a part of the convention. The bank is offering an interest rate Rs 0.4% on their savings account and 8% interest on FD. The bank is attracting the customers by offering special rates of interest on fixed deposits. Public should make use of these benefits, Yashpal said.
