Bengaluru, Mar 23: The hearing into the petition filed by the aggrieved girl who has questioned the formation of the special investigation team to investigate former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi sexual CD case, has been adjourned to March 25.
The petitioner has also prayed to the high court to cancel the first information report alleging blackmail filed in Sadashivanagar police station in Bengaluru. These two separate petitions filed by the lady came up for hearing before a single judge bench of the high court presided over by Justice M Nagaprasanna.
The bench noted that accused in the case, Ramesh Jarkiholi, is a sitting MLA and he also has been named as the defendant in the case filed by the aggrieved girl seeking to quash the blackmail allegation. There is special court for trying people's representatives, he said and clarified that the arguments will be heard on March 25 afternoon after getting the jurisdictional doubt cleared.
Before that, senior advocate Indira Jaisingh, who is representing the victim, explained about the background of the case.
In the meanwhile, Ramesh Jarkiholi travelled to Delhi. His trip assumes significance in the light of the rumours that cabinet rejig is on the way. A few days back, his brother and KMF chairman, Balachandra Jarkiholi, had said that cases against Ramesh have been settled and therefore there is no obstacle in making him a minister.
