Shivamogga, Mar 24: At the behest of union minister Shobha Karandlaje, the union home ministry has entrusted the investigation of the case relating to the murder of Hindu worker Harsha, at Shivamogga recently, to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The agency has already registered a first information report and is about to begin a probe in the case.

Shobha, in her letter, pointed out that Harsha had received threats to his life from Islamic outfits besides fatwa and threats from Islamists who had accused him of committing blasphemy. She also had drawn the attention of the government to the fact that several murders of Hindu workers had happened in the past in Karnataka in similar fashion.
