Udupi, Mar 24: As part of Punar Pratishtapana Brahmakalashotsava of the renovated Sri Mahalakshmi temple Uchila, many other religious rituals will be held for 15 days, that will begin from April first week, said Nadoja Dr G Shankar, president, Brahmakalashotsava Committee and honorary president, Renovation committee.
Addressing the media persons at Uchila temple here on Thursday, March 24, he said, "The renovation work of the temple is completed. Bimba Punar prathishtapana (installation) of Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, lord Sri Prasanna Ganapathi, Sri Bhadrakali, Sri Nagadeva, Ashta bandha kalashotsava, rathotsava , Chathuha Pavithra Nagamandalotsava rituals will begin from Friday, April 1 and will end on April 15. All the rituals will be performed by Vidwan Sri Kukkikatte Raghavendra Thantri, senior priest Venkatanarasimha Upadhyaya and Raghavendra Upadhyaya."
Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai is expected to arrive on Saturday, April 9 to take part in the Brahmakalashotsava.
The Horekanike procession will be held on Sunday, March 27. Horekanike will come from Karnataka and other states as well. It is expected that two to three lakhs devotees will participate in procession. More than 2000 vehicles are expected from Northern and Southern part of the district.
The committee has arranged for lunch and dinner everyday for the devotees.
Rajagopura and Lakshmi Kere will be inaugurated on Friday, April 1 at 5 PM.
Kunkumarchana with maha mangalarathi will be performed everyday evening at 4 PM by women.
Bimba installation of Goddess Mahalakshmi, swarna kalasha prathishte and maha annasantharpana are on Wednesday, April 6.
Annual Rathotsava of the temple will be held on Wednesday, April 13.
Chatuha-pavithra Nagamandala seve will be held on April 16 , night. Punar pratishtapane religious rituals will be there on Saturday, April 16.
Former chief minister B S Yediyurappa, Siddaramaiah, H D Kumaraswamy, MPs Nalin Kumar Kateel, Shobha Karandlaje, and other state leaders, ministers, religious leaders, seers are expected to take part in the programme.
There will be various cultural programmes by cultural teams.
