Riyadh: Admission opened for females to join border guards

Riyadh, Mar 25: Females can now join Border Guards of the Kingdom. An announcement to this effect was made by the interior ministry on Thursday for admission and registration on private rank.

From March 26 till 31 applications will be received as per the announcement made by the general department of central admission of the interior ministry.

Earlier armed forces were also thrown open to females in February 2021 by the Saudi Ministry of Defence.

Females were allowed to serve in military ranks from private to sergeant in Royal Saudi Strategic Missile force, Armed Forces Medical Services, Royal Saudi Navy, Royal Saudi Air Defence and Saudi Arabian Army.

After the completion of 14 weeks of basic training, first group of female Saudi soldiers graduated from the Armed Forces Women’s Cadre training center in September 2021.
