Bantwal: Heavy rain lashing across the taluk for the last two days causes havoc

Bantwal, Mar 25: Heavy rain has been lashing in the taluk during the last two days causing destruction in some places.

The boundary wall of Mani Higher Primary School has collapsed. Houses belonging to Kochapalke resident K Nebisa, Adkarekodi resident Santappa Poojary and another in Peraje village  are partly damaged.

Rain has damaged areca nut farms in Balthila village, and the ones belonging to Berkala resident Santan Veigas, B Rajendra in the vicinity and a rubber farm of Savithri.

An areca nut tree and a jackfruit tree fell on a house belonging to Fatimat Bushra of Jogimutt in Peraje village and damaged the roof sheet. The old deserted house of Ummar, a resident of Budoli in Peraje is damaged in the heavy rain, said taluk office staff Vishu Kumar.
