Bengaluru, Mar 26: An FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) Cluster will soon be established in the twin cities of Hubballi-Dharwad, which have emerged as the major developing cities in the State, Large and Medium Industries Minister Murugesh R Nirani announced on Saturday.
Addressing the Tie-Hubballi sponsored Tiecon 2022 convention in Hubballi, the minister said the Finance Department has already approved the proposal for establishing the FMCG Cluster which will have all the basic infrastructure facilities and help in attracting more investment besides creating jobs.
Nirani said the International Airport project proposed at Kittur on the Hubballi-Belgavi highway is in advanced discussion and 1,000 acres of land is being acquired near the Khanapur railway station in Belagavi for establishing industrial area.
Karnataka is emerging as a leading investment destination, he said the proposed Global Investors Meet being held in November will help in attracting more investments, Nirani added.
