Kuwait Indians Accord warm farewell to Noushad

Kuwait City, Mar 29: Noushad Palliyalil, founder president of Kuwait’s famous Indian football team FC Sparx was felicitated at a warm farewell party organized by the club at Friends Auditorium, Salmiya on March 26.

The evening was set alight by some emotional speeches by some of leading personalities from the Kerala and Goan football circles.

Noushad was honored with a memorable memento in recognition for his immense contribution towards the club and community.

Speaking on the occasion, Kuwait Indian Football Federation (KIFF) president said, “Noushad was an architect and one of the pillars of Indian football who stood for unity among the community.”

Noushad, who first came to Kuwait in 2001, was employed at the highly prestigious Ministry of Interior (MOI).

A decorated footballer himself, Noushad was one of the foremost persons instrumental in establishing FC Sparx in Kuwait, and has been highly active in the social, sports and charitable works of the club since its inception.

Noushad has led the club as its president, and in different other capacities.

Keeping the youth and senior members of the club united has been one his forte. His creative and dynamic ideas especially with the camera, art-design and social media have gained applauds from the Kerala and Goan community.

Others who spoke on the occasion included KIFF president, Siddique - KEFAK president, Najeeb - KEFAK secretary, Abdurahman - KEFAK sports secretary, Pradeep, Shabeer - MFAK, Gulam, Sajan, Mansoor, Husain, Gasper Crasto.

Sameer Nasri compered the function in English and Malayalam.

The members in their speeches recalled Noushad’s humbleness, immense talent
and his selfless contribution in helping FC Sparx establish themselves as one of the most formidable clubs of Kuwait and organize events of excellence.

Gasper Crasto praised Noushad for his gallant efforts in spreading friendship among the community while popular KEFAK president Siddique paid rich tributes for Noushad’s contribution towards Indian Football in Kuwait.

In his farewell speech, an emotional Noushad said, “Football in Kuwait was one of the most memorable phases of my life. I thank everyone for being a part of my wonderful journey, all my memories will be kept forever on the walls of my heart.”
