Mangalore : Kavoor Village Accountant held for Seeking Sexual Favours

Mangalore, January 28 (DHNS) : The DSS with the help of residents handed over the Kavoor Village Accountant (VA) to the Kavoor police, after the latter reportedly sought sexual favours from a woman. The arrested is Shivananda Natekar (32), a native of Bijapur.

It is said that Kavya (26), a resident of Gandhinagar in Kavoor had submitted an application seeking caste and income certificate with the Kavoor village accountant. However, Kavya alleged that the accused Shivanand sought sexual favours to issue the certificate.

Though she ignored his calls initially, she informed the same to her husband as well as the members of Dalit Sangarsh Samithi, after she received repeated calls.

Accordingly, the DSS members laid a trap and when Shivanand arrived at Kavya home on Thursday noon, he was trapped and later handed over to the police.

However, before handing him over to the police, the women and the residents beat him black and blue with sandals.

On the contrary, VA Shivanand said that he visited Kavya’s home just to verify the facts and that he was trapped by Kavya and DSS members.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Subodh Yadav has sought a report from Tahsildar after probing into the issue.

Shivanand Natekar has been serving at Kavoor as a village accountant for the last two years and is married to a nurse. The couple have two children.
