Mangaluru, Mar 29: The two Goonda Act proposals against Rohidas alias Akash Bhavan Sharan and Suratkal Pinky Nawaz by the police has been approved by the high court and accordingly, the home department has passed the order for one year.
Akash Bhavan Sharan of Kavoor police limits has more than 20 criminal cases against him including murder, attempt to murder, rape, POCSO cases, extortion and dacoity. Out of these 15 cases are within the limits of Mangaluru city while two each are registered in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.

Recently, Sharan was arrested for his involvement in the murder of Bantwal Surendra. Rowdy sheets have been opened against him in more than four police stations of the town. At present, he is lodged in Vijayapura central prison. He had instigated and planned many crimes while lodged in the prison.
Pinky Nawaz of Suratkal police limits has 12 criminal cases against him. He is alleged to have hatched a plot to murder a local and disturbing communal harmony through a WhatsApp group among several other cases.
The DG and IG has announced Rs 1 lac cash reward to the team which earlier nabbed the duo.
DCP Law and Order Hariram Shankar, ACP North Mahesh Kumar, ACP CCRB Ravish, Kavoor police inspector Raghav Padil, Suratkal station inspector Chandrappa and team has been commended for their work.
