St Agnes College Celebrates College Day

Mangalore, Jan 28: The college day celebration of St Agnes College was held on Friday January 28. The festivities began at 4.30 pm with a prayer song. The college ground was packed with students from all the sections. The teaching staff, administrative staffs and parents were also present to celebrate this day.
Sandeep Sancheti, director, NITK was the chief guest. While addressing the gathering he said that he is impressed by the showcase of talents by students and called upon to retain the greater standards of the institution. Autonomous status which is accorded to the institution itself says the academic strength of the college, he noted. He also emphasized the overall development of the students and said all students should be ready to attempt all insults and failures that appear in all walks of life. Later he presented the principal's roll of honour for 2011 on the occasion. All the students who had excelled in their academics and extra-curricular activities were honored.
The Presentation of the Annual College report was then carried out followed by the cultural programme. The students of the different sections of the college put up songs, a drama (My Fair Lady) and colorful dance. The programme ended with the singing of the College Anthem.
Dr Sr M Olivia A.C, former provincial superior, Karnataka Province and Joint Secretary, St Agnes College, presided over the programme and handed over the special prizes. Dr Sr Prem D’Souza, principal, Sr Maria Kripa, local manager and Tina P D’Souza, student president were present on the occasion.
